New Formula
In response to changes in California’s Prop 65 listing of phthalate plasticizers, all polymer clay manufacturers have reformulated their products. These new formulas have brought into focus each manufacturers market strategies. In the case of Van Aken’s two main competitors this has meant new formulas that are significantly softer in line with the needs of their primary market, toys. Unfortunately for the adult crafter, these new competitor formulas no longer reflect the range of techniques published in numerous craft books on the subject.
Van Aken’s new Kato Polyclay formula has maintained all craft attributes of previous formulas while providing improved conditioning characteristics.

New Products
• We have changed our package size from 3 oz to the common standard of 2 oz.
• NEW to the line and to the segment are Kato Polyclay 4-Color Sets. Each set contains four individually wrapped 1 oz bars. Liquid Polyclay is now available in 8 colors.
• We have added new features to Kato NuBlade and it is now named NuBlade+. This most basic polymer clay tool has molded on grips at each end of the blade making it easier to control and safer than standard straight razors. Available April 2008.
• NEW Kato Displays and Assortments. Kato Polyclay 2+4 display is specially designed for 2-ounce and 4-ounce bars. This item will be available by March 15, 2008
